WordPress shows the admin toolbar by default top of the screen on the front panel when user login. But some users don’t like this and they want to remove them. So in this tutorial, I would like to show you how to disable/hide/remove the WordPress admin toolbar in different ways.

1. Disable the admin toolbar in settings

Login to your website admin panel and go to users > your profile and scroll down to Toolbar option, uncheck the (Show Toolbar when viewing site) checkbox option. After that save the settings by click on the (update profile) button. It appears bottom of the screen.

Now, admin toolbar is hidden on the front panel of the screen.

Note: This method only hides the admin toolbar for current user only. Not all WordPress users.

2. Remove the admin toolbar using code

This way is for a technical person. If you want to hide the admin toolbar using code. Just add this below code in your theme functions.php file.

Functions.php file path is. Go to admin panel Appearance > Editor > Theme Functions (functions.php)

// admin bar remove
add_filter( 'show_admin_bar', '__return_false' );

After dropping the code in functions.php file now saves the setting by click on the (update file) button.

Another code snippet to remove the admin toolbar.

// remove admin bar
add_action( 'after_setup_theme', 'remove_admin_bar' );

function remove_admin_bar() {
show_admin_bar( false );
}

Another code snippet to remove the admin toolbar.

// remove admin bar
if ( is_admin_bar_showing() ) {
show_admin_bar( false );
}
